Nasher Sculpture Center presents Ultra-Seeing
The Nasher Sculpture Center will be presenting monthly screenings of experimental cinema from the perspective of synesthesia, visual music, and visualization of music. The program is steered by Frank Dufour, Professor in the recently created school of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication (ATEC) at the University of Texas at Dallas, and Emmanuel Lefrant, director of Light Cone, a French organization dedicated to the diffusion and conservation of experimental cinema.
Each hour-long session in
the series will bring together major works from the rich collection of Light
Cone, as well as contemporary productions from local and international artists.

Savor Gastropub presents Unplugged in the Park
Kicking off patio season, Savor Gastropub will host a live music series, Unplugged in the Park, on its patio every Wednesday and Sunday evening this spring. Wednesdays are “Weather Wednesdays” for guests to enjoy the beautiful spring weather, while listening to the sounds of local artists. Sundays are B.Y.O.F. (Bring Your Own Friend) - two or four-legged friends included, with music featuring local and/or out-of-town musicians.
This eclectic mix of
musicians will delight guests as they relax on Savor’s patio overlooking Klyde
Warren Park and enjoy Savor’s dinner and bar menu offerings.

Dallas Opera presents The
Turn of the Screw, a dark and gripping 19th century tale based on the
atmospheric novel by Henry James.
A governess is hired to care for two children at Bly, an English country house.
The position, which initially seemed promising, soon turns puzzling when the
governess sees what she believes to be a ghost. The housekeeper reveals a
sordid series of events involving two former employees, now dead, who may have
had inappropriate relationships with the children. The children themselves,
Miles and Flora, display bizarre and often troubling behavior. The ghosts
torment the children and the governess to such an extreme that she must decide
whether to leave Bly House or stay in order to protect the children. Principal
Guest Conductor Nicole Paiement conducts Britten’s enthralling 20th century
score, mixing tonality and dissonance with the recurrent use of a 12-note
theme.
